This page explains how to delete your Basmeh account and what happens to your data. It applies to both kinds of account in the app, which are deleted in different ways.
Delete your account from inside the app:
Deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone. It removes the entire company workspace, not only your own login — every employee record and every attendance log belonging to it is erased in the same operation.
If you cannot sign in, email [email protected] from the address associated with the account, or message +962 79 582 7113 on WhatsApp, and state the company name used at registration.
Your account was created by your employer and forms part of their working-time records, so your employer removes it.
Ask the person who gave you your 6-digit join code to delete you from the Employees list in their admin app. That removes your account and your attendance history at once.
If your employer will not act on your request, contact us at [email protected] and we will handle it as a data-subject request under the Jordanian Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 24 of 2023).
Deleting an Administrator account permanently erases:
Deleting an Employee record erases that employee's row and, by cascade, all of their attendance logs.
Consent records. Basmeh keeps an append-only ledger recording that consent to the Privacy Policy was given or withdrawn. These rows survive account deletion, because a consent history that disappears proves nothing — it is the only evidence that location monitoring was lawfully agreed to.
A consent record contains no name, no email address, no phone number, and no location data. It holds only: the account identifier, whether the subject was an administrator or an employee, the policy version, whether consent was granted or withdrawn, the timestamp, the display language, and the app version and platform.
These records are retained for as long as they are needed to evidence lawful processing, or longer where labour, tax or accounting law requires it.
Everything else is deleted or irreversibly anonymised within ninety (90) days of account deletion, as committed in section 9 of the Privacy Policy. In practice the deletion is immediate: it is a single cascading database operation, not a queued job.
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, and must be cancelled in your device settings:
Cancel the subscription before deleting the account, or you will keep being charged for a workspace that no longer exists.
